Frets are one of the most important parts of a guitar. Professional fretwork is an art and there are many critical phases to it, from fret slot depth to polishing.
REFRETTING
When guitar fret wear is too low to be levelled and crowned safely:
• Careful removal of existing frets
• Fretboard levelling if required (only unfinished)
• Cleaning fret slots or sawing to correct depth if required
• Fret installation and clamping
• Fret Levelling and Bevelling
• Re-crowning and polishing
FRET LEVELLING
When guitar fret wear is in multiple areas and has fret buzz:
• Fret Levelling
• Check fret ends and bevel and reshape if required
• Re-crowning and polishing
SPOT LEVELLING
When fret buzz is caused by one or two high frets:
• Problem frets are located, levelled and re-crowned
